Myopia Control

Managing Myopia

Myopia management requires professional and experienced diagnosis. Dr Trevor can effectively control progression through the use of specific medical devices and best practice patient care.

Myopia is typically first diagnosed in childhood. It is important to assess and diagnose myopia earlier to reduce the lifelong impact.

Dr Trevor Williams uses highest industry technology with evidence based diagnosis and management to slow the progression of myopia.

Myopia Treatment Options

Treatments for Myopia include: Orthokeratology *totally optimised, MyoCare Portfolio *Zeiss, MiYOSMART *HOYA, Atropine drops *Eikance, MiSight *CooperVision, Myovision/ Myokids.

Orthokeratology

Also known as Ortho-K is a non-surgical treatment eliminating the need for spectacles and traditional contact lenses.

The process of correct fit of Ortho-K lenses requires detailed measurements for fitting to the shape of the cornea. The lessons that follow from the initial consultation, are for the correct handling, insertion and removal of these medical devices.

The wearer inserts the lenses at bedtime and removes them upon waking. The treatment works by gently reshaping your eye while you sleep. It is safe and effective in correcting nearsightedness, longsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.

An appointment with Dr Trevor will establish your compatibility with this innovative treatment.
